The Chilean Ministry of Education has launched the platform ‘Get on the ListVacancies 2025′, a free digital tool that simplifies the process of searching for places in schools for those students who were unable to obtain enrollment in the School Admission System (SAE). This initiative seeks to modernize and make transparent a procedure that was traditionally carried out in person, saving families time and effort.
What is ‘Get on the List’ and how does it work?
‘Get on the List’ allows parents to register their children on waiting lists of establishments that still have vacancies available. The process is completely digital and is carried out through the official SAE website. Those interested must create an account, add their students and select the schools of interest. The system generates a waiting list ordered chronologically according to when the application is submitted, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
From December 11, 2024, families can go to www.sistemadeadmisionescolar.cl and click on the “buttonGet on the List“. There they must create an account and validate the students’ data. Subsequently, they will be able to select up to six or more schools as options to increase their chances of success. Once this stage is completed, the system will confirm the student’s position on the list of waiting for each selected establishment.
In addition to saving time and avoiding long lines, ‘Get on the List’ modernizes access to education by centralizing the entire process in one place. It also allows parents to monitor their children’s position on waiting lists in real time. For schools, the platform eliminates the need to manage waiting lists manually, reducing administrative burden. At the state level, the Mineduc obtains key data on the availability of vacancies in different regions, facilitating the planning of educational policies.
