87 percent of the polling stations for this Sunday’s elections, in which judges of the peace will be elected, are already installed this Friday at noon, according to Carlos Quintero, vice president of the National Council. Electoral (CNE), through telephone contact with VTV.
Quintero indicated that he estimates that at around 4 pm this Friday, 100 percent of the installation of the polling stations in the 4,862 communal circuits has already been completed.
He detailed that 43,586 communal councils make up the respective circuits and will have enabled 4,818 voting centers nationwide.
“All the material is already in the voting centers,” he said, highlighting that this Sunday there will be an “election party” that has particular characteristics, such as the fact that it is an unprecedented process, in which the 4 thousand 862 communal circuits will elect their communal justices of the peace.
He explained that the voting process will take place from 8 in the morning and is scheduled to end at 5 in the afternoon on Sunday.
“At this moment there is a training process that lasts until today (Friday), so that all members of the electoral commissions are trained because they are going to play an important role,” he stated.
CNE technical support
Quintero pointed out that the CNE is providing technical support to the process, but each communal circuit has its own electoral commission.
“The organized communities themselves have circuits, communal councils have their commissions, and the CNE is providing support, they will then have the function of totalizing and adjusting the positions of each electoral commission.”
