Venezuela is recognized for its contribution to regional integration

The Southern African Development Community, SADC, based in Botswana, recognized Venezuela for its outstanding contribution to the regional integration process.

The recognition was received by the Ambassador of Venezuela and Special Representative to the SADC, Magaly Henríquez, who highlighted the importance and pride in the distinction that “symbolizes the friendship and fraternity between Venezuela and the SADC countries,” the diplomat communicated through from his Instagram account.

Likewise, the official took the opportunity to report on the climate of normality and tranquility that exists in Venezuela, after the presidential re-election, and thanked the SADC for its participation as observers in the July 28 elections, in which a delegation participated. , headed by the Secretary-General of the SADC Parliamentary Forum, Boemo M. Sekgoma.

For his part, the Executive Secretary of the aforementioned organization, Elías Magosi, extended his most sincere congratulations to the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, for his re-election; while praising Henríquez for his appointment as special representative to SADC.

Both parties committed to working together to strengthen cooperation spaces in the aforementioned African organization, as well as to develop strategic initiatives that promote sustainable development, both of Venezuela and the peoples of the southern African continent.

The Southern African Development Community is a regional economic community that brings together 16 countries in southern Africa such as: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles , South Africa, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

The aforementioned organization was founded in 1980 in Arusha, Tanzania, during a conference of heads of state and government of several African countries. Its objectives include achieving regional development, peace and security, achieving economic growth, alleviating poverty and improving the quality of life of the people of southern Africa, among others.
