The president Gustavo Petro defended this December 12, the arrival of Daniel Mendoza Leal, the controversial creator of the series ‘Matarife’, to the Colombian Embassy in Thailand.
“They are telling me that I cannot name Mr. Mendoza as ambassador, the one who did the ‘Matarife’, because some photos of him naked with some ladies came out“said the president from Barranquilla.
Mendoza has been questioned for a series of tweets in which – in a derogatory way – he makes reference to women, with sexual innuendos and in which, in fact, it refers to minors. There are even images of him without clothes.

However, President Petro noted that “The ladies do not say that they went by force, but that they liked the moment. How do you expect a libertarian and progressive government to prohibit love and making love? Not even if it were Pinochet“.
Likewise, W Radio announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested approval for this appointment.
Likewise, the Foreign Ministry indicated to EL TIEMPO that all Nominations or applications become official when the resumes of the candidates are published on the website. However, criticism of this decision was immediate.

“What a pain that the feminist foreign policy that has been worked with fingernails and a lot of effort, ends up overshadowed by the power that Petro and the Foreign Ministry give to misogynists like Daniel Mendoza“said representative Jennifer Pedraza.
Mendoza is close to several figures of the Historical Pact and in 2022 he wanted to join the Petro government, something that did not materialize at that time, but now it has become a reality. Furthermore, a year later he tried to reach the Bogotá Council for that coalition on a closed list, but he did not manage to obtain the seat he was looking for.
