San Antonio defeated Independiente Petrolero 3-1, this Thursday afternoon, at the Carlos Villegas stadium in Entre Ríos, Cochabamba, at the start of matchday 28 of the Clausura tournament of the Professional Division of Bolivian soccer.
This result has two things to highlight: the team from the Cochabamba tropics won again at home after four months, since on August 12, for the eleventh date, they had defeated Universitario de Vinto 2-1, they had to spend eight games for the saints to celebrate at the Carlos Villegas; and the other fact is that with this defeat, Independiente was left without a chance to fight for a qualification for an international tournament.
There were no clear scoring plays until the 13th minute arrived, in which a free kick into the area went towards José Vitor Trindade (13′), who took advantage of a weak start by goalkeeper Elder Arauz to make it 1-0 in favor of the premises.
In the second goal José Vitor Trindade was once again the protagonist, as he escaped from the right and sent a cross so that Daniel Floro (23′) found himself with the goal at his disposal, since the rival goalkeeper had been left halfway.
The Saints stretched the difference with another goal from Daniel Floro (35′), who defined by making a hat to goalkeeper Arauz. In the first instance, the forward’s position was taken, but after the VAR review, the referee from La Paz, José Quintanilla, validated the goal.
The capitalians celebrated a goal by Juan Godoy (40) near the end of the first half, but that score was annulled by an alleged handball by the Paraguayan when he lowered a cross cross.
‘Inde’ had the pleasure of scoring a goal in the second half with a very well-made goal from forward Daniel Porozo (51′). The Ecuadorian left Leonardo Justiniano on the floor to take a cross shot and beat José Peñarrieta.
The Chuquisaqueños were excited to give a touch of emotion to the match, because the referee José Quintanilla awarded a penalty in their favor, for an alleged foul by Josué Prieto (60′) against Godoy, but after analyzing the play in the VAR, The referee corrected his decision and there was no penalty.
Daniel Floro (79′) scored another goal on a quick counterattack by San Antonio, but the VAR had that score annulled due to a previous foul and the match ended 3-1 in favor of the Cochabambinos.
