In golden letters, the Senate Wall of Honor will be inscribed: Ifigenia Martínez, woman of state

He recalled that Ifigenia Martínez was an economist, politician, academic and fighter for respect for human rights and gender equality, and she stood out at a time when they had no possibility of participating in politics.
Laura Itzel Castillo (Morena) pointed out that her former co-religionist was a precursor in the full sense of the word and her work was exemplary when there was a breakaway from the PRI and the National Democratic Front was formed.

On the other hand, the Senate approved with 86 votes in favor and 21 abstentions – from PAN and Movimiento Ciudadano – to award the Belisario Domínguez Medal in its 2023 edition to the journalist and activist Ninfa María Deándar Martínez.
