President Nicolás Maduro assured that he will be sworn in on January 10 before the National Assembly. He stressed that that day peace and order will prevail in Venezuela, despite the alleged intentions that, he said, the opposition has to “destabilize” the country.
He leader Nicolás Maduro said that opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia makes calls to generate a “civil war” in Venezuela. He accused the leader of violating the agreements he signed with the Government before leaving the country for Spain, where he has been in exile since last August.
Maduro made the accusation during the night of this Wednesday, December 11. «Be careful with what you say from there, don’t be wrong with the people of Venezuela. In Venezuela there is not going to be war,” he said from an assembly in which details about the elections of justices of the peace that will be held next Sunday, December 15, were discussed.
He stressed that he will be sworn in on January 10 before the “legitimate” National Assembly. He emphasized that on January 10, peace and order will prevail in Venezuela, despite the alleged intentions that, he said, the opposition has to “destabilize” the country. «Fascists, make no mistake because you are going to regret it. “It is very easy to invite war from a tavern in Madrid,” he insisted.

Maduro referred to the election of justices of the peace. He pointed out that for this process, 5,297 communal circuits were organized, of which 436 are of the original indigenous peoples, who with their own methods will elect their justices of the peace.
He celebrated the campaign that the candidates for the positions have given. He proposed that “modality” should be added to the proposals for reforms to electoral laws to build a system that ends populism, demagoguery, multimillion-dollar campaigns, lies and “democracy based on manipulation.”
Maduro recalled that next year, 2025, parliamentary, regional and municipal elections will be held in Venezuela. In this sense, he said that “it occurs to me that the CNE, using its powers, calls for AN and mayoral elections in February or March.”
