During the presidential press conference, Borrego’s resignation from his new position in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), currently directed by Bárcena, emerged. In his resignation letter, he expressed that, although it was a private event, “I recognize that it was inappropriate to have requested the space through an institutional email (…) this act was not correct for a public official, nor worthy of the trust placed in him.” in me.”

issued later by Semarnat, Bárcena notified that she requested Borrego’s resignation from the Coordination of Contact with Citizens, since she did not authorize the act, carried out on October 4, nor was she notified. However, a photograph and a video are circulating on social networks showing that Bárcena did participate in the celebration, in addition to an invitation that includes the names of the couple, the date of the event and their gift table with an account in euros, without mentioning that it was an official act. These supposed evidences have not been confirmed by Semarnat.
Code of ethics
During the morning, Sheinbaum also disseminated the letter he sent to the government’s high command on October 2 where he warned them to abide by the ethical code of the Fourth Transformation.
Corruption is unacceptable in the Fourth Transformation.
