Maduro to González Urrutia: Stop calling for a civil war in Venezuela

The first national leader, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that the opposition extremist Edmundo González Urrutia violates the agreement he signed with the national government before fleeing to Spain and urged him to put aside his calls for a war confrontation between Venezuelans.

“Don’t play with flames, respect Venezuela. You are violating the agreement you signed, you are violating Spain’s right to asylum. Stop calling for a civil war in Venezuela,” said the President of the Republic this Wednesday when leading an assembly with popular power in the January 23 parish of Caracas.

On the contrary, Maduro assured that in the country Venezuela During this Christmas and after January 10 – the day on which he will be sworn in before the National Assembly -, there will be peace and people mobilized in the streets. “Peace and Constitution, peace and legality, peace and order, peace and national unity!” he exalted.

Swear in front of the people

The head of state reiterated that on January 10 he will go to the National Assembly, chaired by Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, to be sworn in before the people and the Constitution.

“(…) For a new revolutionary mandate of a government of the people, for the people and with the people. He who understood, understood. And those who did not understand should bear the consequences, especially if they live in Madrid,” he argued.
