After the setback, Alvinegro was in 4th position with 16 points, five more than Portuguesa, which is fifth and can take the spot from the team led by coach Lúcio Flávio.
Suffering from several failures in the defense, Botafogo even scored with Erison and the young striker Matheus Nascimento (twice), but Lusa secured the three points thanks to goals from Carli (own), Watson, Bruno Santos, Miller and João Paulo .
Alvinegro returns to the field for the competition against Volta Redonda, on March 7th.
