Avoid imprudence. Yesterday morning, in Tarma, the areas of Carpapata and Yanango woke up with rain, causing stones and rocks to fall onto the asphalt road of the Tarma-La Merced central highway. In this sense, traffic is restricted as a precaution. It should be noted that due to this phenomenon, rock and mud slides have been recorded since yesterday at approximately 10:00 pm at the entrance to the La Virgen Tunnel, San Ramón, due to constant rains.
The landslide has also been recorded at kilometer 70+900 in the San Pedro sector, near Matichacra on the central highway to the central jungle, where mud and rocks closed one lane of the track.
After the fall of mud and stones, the road was cleaned; for this purpose, the road was closed in sections and by lanes to prevent the units from agglomerating.
The Palca Highway Police (Polcar) has reported that the landslides and collapses have been constant since early morning, the most affected sector is the area of San Pedro, where only one lane has been enabled for vehicular traffic.
Likewise, the Palca Highway Police, the “Guardian Angel of the Roads” recommended that carriers and passengers take appropriate precautions.
Marankiari. In this sector of Chanchamayo, another landslide blocked the main road, leaving a large number of vehicles stranded on both sides of the road. Others use the alternative route to Victoria Harbor.
The affected companies requested support with machinery from both the provincial municipalities and Provías Nacional to clean the route.
