Santo Domingo.-The Dominican Government, through the Ministry of the Interior and Policearranged a slight temporary extension of hours for sale of alcoholic beverages in some businesses during the second half of December and the first three days of January.
However, this does not apply to filledcafes, car washes, mechanical parks, water parks and alcoholic beverage stores, which will continue to operate until midnight, in accordance with the provisions of the April 2022 resolution.
The grace that will become effective starting December 15 is only for discos, bars, clubs, restaurants, event centers, piano bars and casinos, which will be able to operate until 3:00 in the morning from Sunday to Thursday. , and until 4:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Through resolution No. MIP-RA-0008-2024, the Ministry of the Interior establishes that only during the celebrations of December 24 and 31 there will be no restrictions regarding the hours of sale of alcoholic beverages, without restriction on the type of trade.
It specifies that in the event of violation of these provisions, sanctions may be imposed that include the temporary or permanent closure of the offending establishments, as well as the cancellation of licenses or permits.
The Ministry of the Interior and Police, in collaboration with the National Police, will be in charge of ensuring compliance with the regulations.
This resolution will be in effect from December 15, 2024 to January 3, 2025, after which the original provisions of the resolution issued in 2022 will be resumed.
