President Abinader returned from Qatar

Presidente Abinader regresó de Qatar

Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader returned to the country this Tuesday afternoon after your trip to Qatarwhere he met with Emir Tamin bin Hamad Al Thami, and participated in the Doha World Forum.

The head of state returned through the San Isidro air base and was received by the vice minister for Military Affairs of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Miguel Ángel Rubio Báez, (ERD, who was representing the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; the Commander General of the Air Force, Major General Floreal T. Suárez Martínez; the Commanders of the Presidential Guard, Brigadier General Guillermo Caro Cruz and the Guard Regiment Honor, Colonel Luis R. Herrera Almonte.

During his visit to the Asian country, the president met with the Emir at the Royal Palace, with whom he discussed important issues of interest to both nations.

The Emir invited President Abinader to a more private meeting between the two, where they discussed Qatar’s intention to invest in the Dominican Republic in different areas given that the country is the fastest growing economy in Latin America.

In addition, they discussed the possibility of establishing a direct Qatar Airways flight to the Dominican Republic. The president also took a tour of Qatar’s Hamad International Airport, which received the Award for the best air terminal in the world.

Doha World Forum

During his participation in the Doha World Forum, the Dominican head of state, where he highlighted that global cooperation in the Dominican Republic has played a transcendental role.

The president highlighted that the country’s achievements in cooperation are thanks to political-social stability and the synergy between the public and private sectors, and the creation of policies and initiatives focused on promoting strategic sectors.

The Doha World Forum was held on December 7 and 8 at the Sheraton Hotel.

Meetings with officials from the areas of energy, transportation, security, health, tourism and investments

The ruler also held meetings on Saturday with the CEO of Qatar Airways, Badr Mohammed Al Meer at the Sheraton Hotel and met with the Prime Minister of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Likewise, he held two meetings, the first with the CEO IRTH Capital – Private Investment Fund, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Thani and another with the Minister of Education, HE Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater.

On Sunday, the ruler met with Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al-Thani, and then with Tourism Minister, HE Saad bin Ali Al Kharji. These activities, like others, will take place at the Raffles Hotel.

He also held meetings with the Ministers of Public Health, HE Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, and the Minister of Transportation, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani.

As with the CEO of Katara Hospitality, businessman Nasser Matar AlKawari; with the Director General of Qatar Investment Authority, Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi and a meeting at noon with the Minister of Defense of the State of Qatar, HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan AlThani.

During his official visit, Abinader inaugurated the bust of the Dominican father of the country Juan Pablo Duarte at the Dominican Embassy in Qatar.

The ruler left last Thursday the 5th in the afternoon from Miami International Airport with his Official Entourage to Hamad International Airport, Qatar.

The Dominican president is accompanied by a small delegation made up of the ministers of the Treasury, José Manuel Vicente; of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos; the Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and Cooperation of Mirex, Hugo Rivera, and the executive director of the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), Biviana Riveiro.

Also part of the delegation are the Secretary General of the Presidential Cabinet, Eilyn Beltrán; the president’s personal assistant, Mercedes Pichardo, and the president’s Press Director, Daniel García Archibald.
