In the last session of the National Congress of Councilors, the Tourism Commission, at the request of the Councilor of the Colorado Party, Malvina Sarett, from Colonia, meetings were held to find out how it is being implemented in different departmental Tourism Directorates of the country, the so-called Law on irregular housing or temporary accommodation.
“The law has already been approved, but it is not yet being implemented because its regulations and adaptation to each department are missing,” explained Sarett, who highlighted that it is being implemented in the majority of the coastal departments.
During the meetings, we worked with the visions of the departments of Colonia and Maldonado. In the latter, progress is being made jointly with Dr. Julio Facal, drafter of the law. Mayor Sarett emphasized that “the idea is to bring each department its reality and try to implement it, regulate it, so that the law itself serves. “This is how we hope that it will be in Cologne, that the issue will be discussed.”
This approach seeks to ensure that the regulations are effective and address the specific needs of each region, marking an important step towards the regulation of temporary accommodation in the country.
