The popular Bank Dominican and technology company microsoft signed a collaboration agreement to promote the digital transformation in the segments of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) and young entrepreneurs, as well as in other groups of clients of the banking entity, forming an alliance in the market of financial services of the insular Caribbean.
According to a press release from Popular, thanks to this strategic agreement with microsoftthe bank will expand the offer of consulting and technological products for SMEs, with cloud storage solutions, collaborative work and computer equipment, among others.
For its enterprising clients, the Popular and microsoft They will design the integration of specific tools in the process of ideation and acceleration of entrepreneurial projects.
These benefits will be channeled through Impulsa Popular, the portfolio of products and services that the financial institution offers its SME clients, and Emprende Popular, the initiative to develop innovative ideas and turn them into value businesses.
The press release indicates that the goal of this far-reaching alliance with microsoft is to promote small businesses and Dominican enterprises to make them more competitive in the digital ecosystem. However, beyond SMEs and entrepreneurs, the agreement will simplify and speed up Popular’s internal digitization processes, while developing the digital skills of its employees.
Likewise, it includes workshops on innovation, security and technical support for the development of joint solutions between Popular and microsoft.
The result of this collaboration will translate into higher levels of analytical capacity, the strengthening of proposals based on artificial intelligence and the implementation of innovation processes and tests, with the bank’s access to state-of-the-art technologies in the cloud, through microsoft 365, to develop “low-code” applications and use cases, such as blockchain.
The agreement was signed at Torre Popular, headquarters of the bank, in a ceremony headed by Christopher Paniagua, executive president of Popular, and Herbert Lewy, general manager of microsoft and responsible for the Digital Transformation for the Caribbean.
In his words, Paniagua said: “As a result of this alliance, our financial organization reinforces its digital leadership in the market of financial services, contributing to the progress of the country. And thanks to this, our clients will be directly benefited, with a more renewed and innovative offer of products and services, which will allow them to be more competitive”.
Meanwhile, Lewy indicated: “We are excited to collaborate with the trajectory of leadership and innovation of the popular Bank through the use of our technology to promote financial solutions for the benefit of its clients; especially among micro, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, which are important economic engines for the country’s development”.
