The Nicaraguan Gerson Porfirio González Varela41 years old, who worked as a security guard at a convenience store in Arraiján, Panama, was murdered on the night of December 8. Five criminals entered the establishment, took the agent’s weapon and shot the compatriot.
González’s murder was recorded by the premises’ surveillance cameras. In them the Nicaraguan is seen at his workplace in the “Carlos Lau” convenience store located in the La Cristal sector of Loma Cova, Arraiján district. Surveillance cameras recorded the moment when two of the armed individuals immobilized the Nicaraguan and then dragged him down a hallway.

In the video, González, who is lying on the ground, can be heard pleading with the criminals not to kill him; However, one of them approaches and fires two detonations in the back area. After the customers fled the premises, the criminals proceeded to fire two more shots at the worker.
With González mortally wounded on the ground, the assailants take the money from the cash register and later the owner of the establishment manages to close the main gate of said establishment. The criminals managed to escape through the office window of the premises.
According to the Red Cross, González died at the scene, so he was transferred to a local morgue. The Panamanian Police have not yet captured any of the criminals and have offered 3 thousand dollars for any information that leads to their whereabouts.
The mayor of the Arraiján district, Stefany Peñalba, said this Monday that she was aware of the capture of three people, but the information is not yet official.
Gerson González, who lived in the district of La Chorrera, leaves behind four orphaned children. He was originally from Managua but had lived in Panama for more than ten years.
