At least 20 people, including employees and drivers with access to the Caucedo Multimodal Port, have been questioned in relation to the seizure of 9.5 tons of cocaine last Friday.
Reports obtained by this means indicate that as part of the investigations, the four prosecutors in charge of the case are raising cameras around the perimeter where the container containing the drugs was moved.
Prosecutors maintain firm the decision that at least five of the people questioned, all linked to the Caucedo Multimodal Port, have a direct involvement in the seizure of the shipment of 9.5 tons of cocaine.

The drugs arrived at the Caucedo Multimodal Port on Friday of last week in A transit ship arrived in the country from Guatemalabecause its final destination was Belgium, frustrating the Dominican authorities to get the drugs out.

“We are still in the process of installing cameras around the perimeter where the cocaine shipment was found, as part of the final investigations of the case,” said sources linked to the investigations.
They also said that the prosecutors in charge of the case have the firm belief that five of the people questioned have direct links to the stash of 9.5 tons of cocaine worth $250 million.

“We hope that in the next few hours, the Public Ministry will make a decision on those possibly involved in the case and their submission to the courts,” said the sources linked to the investigations.
The Dominican Republic has had the support of intentional organizations, allied countries and the Guatemalan authorities, in the process of investigating the most significant drug case detected in the country.
“This is a case that has required in-depth investigations due to its magnitude and that we will bring to the end, until part of its components are determined and located,” said the informants.
The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), It has had the absolute support of President Luis Abinader, the Armed Forces and the Public Ministry, in its fight against international drug trafficking.
