Brayan Andrés Marín, a 26-year-old young man from Ibaguera, has put Colombia at the top by being crowned the best mechanic in the world in a prestigious international competition held in India.
This outstanding achievement was obtained after competing with 22 mechanics from different countries, who gathered at this global event to demonstrate their skills in diagnosing and repairing motorcycles.
The talented mechanic, who grew up in a village called Agua Negra and inherited his father’s passion for motorcycles, says that in December he was presented with the opportunity to work in a workshop in the El Salado sector. Now, he proudly expresses that his talent is empirical, the same skill that led him to win a contest organized by a major motorcycle brand.
At the international event, Brayan not only impressed with his technical prowess, but also with his ability to resolve complex motorcycle faults under pressure.
In an interview with Econoticias, Brayan shared how he lived his experience in India, highlighting the multicultural atmosphere of the contest:
“It was a very enriching experience. I was surrounded by colleagues from 22 countries, although some could not participate due to logistical problems, two days of competition, divided into three tests per day: questions about sensors, calibration and the use of measurement tools. » Bryan said.
During the contest, we carried out theoretical tests, verbal evaluations and practical exercises, in which we had to diagnose and repair specific faults on the motorcycles in a limited time,” he said.
Passed all tests
The tests required great precision, as Brayan had to solve technical problems within 30 to 45 minutes.
These tests included the use of specialized tools and advanced knowledge of sensors and spare parts, which were evaluated by the event organizers.
The competition not only tested repair skill, but also the speed and accuracy with which problems were resolved.
In an emotional awards ceremony, Brayan’s efforts were recognized by the organizing brand, who presented him with several prizes, including an HP computer, tablets and souvenirs from the emblematic Taj Mahal.
The young man from Ibaguera highlighted the atmosphere of camaraderie and the cultural differences that he experienced in India, even mentioning the curious local festivals in which only men participate, which allowed him to learn more about the traditions of the host country.
