“December 31 is approaching, a sad day for thousands of State contractors who know that in January and February 2025 they will have to work for free (or they will be fired) because OPS contracts will be issued in all entities for the month of March. Without benefits, without vacations, paying 100% of their social security and on top of that, working for free several months of the year due to the bureaucratic slowness and negligence of all entities!” wrote the representative.

According to what the congressman explains, Workers who have OPS contracts would have to work for free in January and February so as not to be replaced, “a crafty practice that the Government of Change promised to end and that I hope @petrogustavo fulfills. I will always be there supporting him to achieve it,” he said.

On the other hand, Agmeth Escaf also called on the national government so that President Gustavo Petro and his cabinet take measures to eradicate this situation. “In this fight I hope that President @petrogustavo and the entire change bench will accompany me. No more labor abuse by the State,” he wrote.

Daniel Briceño questioned Agmeth Escaf for his complaint

In response to Agmeth Escaf’s publication, Bogotá councilor Daniel Briceño, recognized for overseeing the current government, questioned the congressman for making this complaint, when, according to him, During Gustavo Petro’s period, the number of contractors in the State has increased.

“Mr. Agmeth Escaf, with the Petro government Contractors went from 47,597 in Duque’s first two years to 122,096 contractors in the Petro government. They multiplied the number of people linked to the provision of services and I have not seen you say anything,” Briceño wrote.
