Nicolás Maduro awarded decorations to the 21 officials sanctioned by the US

President Nicolás Maduro awarded decorations to the 21 civil and military officials who were recently sanctioned by the United States government. “Make yourselves deserving and worthy of the sanctions that imperialism placed on you,” he said.

This Monday, December 9, President Nicolás Maduro awarded the “Victory of Ayacucho” decoration to civil and military officials sanctioned by the United States government.

The event took place from the Plaza Monumento al Bicentenario de Ayacucho on Paseo Los Próceres. “Make yourselves deserving and worthy of the sanctions that imperialism placed on you, but, above all, make yourselves heirs in action of the glories of this Decoration, Victors of Ayacucho, which, for the first time in 200 years, is awarded in Venezuela” said Maduro.

In this sense, he indicated that the newly created decoration is being awarded for the first time. “Twenty-one worthy Venezuelans, who were sanctioned by the empire and that sanction became a decoration for their honor, their morals and a commitment.”

Maduro asked the Minister of Defense, General Vladimir Padrino López, for a “note of decoration” to all military personnel present. “Commemorate the 200 years of a unique historical process that marked the genes of this life as peoples and as a republic from that time on.”

On November 28, the United States government imposed sanctions against 21 officials of the security forces and the ministerial cabinet of Nicolás Maduro, linked to alleged “repressive tactics” and “antidemocratic” actions, after the presidential elections of July 28. .
