Different entities and personalities in the municipality of Saint Ignatius of Velasco Professor Zuleika Vásquez Hurtado was honoredfor contributing for three decades to teaching and encouraging young people to discover their talents in missionary baroque music.

Recognition of Vásquez Hurtado It took place on Saturday night within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Municipal Orchestra of San Ignacio de Velasco. She was honored by the Mayor’s Office of San Ignacio, the Municipal Council and by Representative María René Álvarez.

Precisely, in the cathedral of said municipality where a large number of people attended, The teacher offered a concert with the former students of the orchestra in which they performed three fragments of the San Xavier Mass by Guiovanni Batista Bassani.

Professor Zuleika Vásquez receives the recognition

The representative of Creo, María René Álvarez, delivered a cameral tribute to Vásquez and as one of her students in the Ignatian choir highlighted the teacher’s work. On the occasion, he requested the parliamentary distinction from the Commission on Indigenous Nations and Peoples, Peasants, Cultures and Interculturality of the Chamber of Deputies.

Zuleika Vazquez currently works in Santa Cruzis a choral and orchestral director with a specialty in singing; music and dance teacher. She was director of the choirs of San José de Chiquitos, Santa Ana de Velasco, San Antonio de Lomerío, San Javier, San Miguel de Velasco, among others, for more than 14 years.
