In an extraordinary session, the Icetex Board of Directors announced aA series of measures and supports aimed at strengthening higher education in Colombia.

During the meeting, the confirmation of the Ministry of Education on the transfer of $197,000 million to Icetex, of which $95,000 million will go to the Generation E Fund – Excellencespecifically to cover tuition and support of the beneficiaries.
Likewise, it was reported on the opening of new administration fundsmanaged with resources from the Ministry of Education, which provide support to populations with special constitutional protection.

These include the Fund for Population Victims of the Armed Conflict, the Fund for the Disabled Population and the Fund for the Roma Population. One of the most notable decisions was the approval of the Contingent Liability Fund, designed to protect beneficiaries of educational loans. in adverse situations that may affect their economic or academic stability.

During the session, The Board of Directors reiterated its call to mayors and governors to work together on the allocation of resources through the General Royalties Systemwith the aim of implementing new programs that benefit young people from vulnerable populations and in conditions of extreme poverty, facilitating their access and permanence in higher education.

Icetex also announced that it will continue holding extraordinary sessions throughout December to evaluate new alternatives and mechanisms that allow the opening of calls for educational credits and strengthening the life projects of its beneficiaries.
