Carlo Magno Pasquel Cárdenas, who in the late 1980s was linked to alleged terrorist acts, currently works as a senior advisor to the Congressman for Popular Renewal Cheryl Trigozo and receives a monthly remuneration of S/17,000, according to a Panorama report.
According to the aforementioned program, at the end of the 80s, Pasquel Cárdenas was arrested for attacking a Democratic Party office with a Molotov cocktail. Once captured, he indicated that he sympathized with the Peruvian Communist Party Shining Path and had attended the Youth Movement Schools that, at that time, carried out activities in various classrooms of the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos.
Because of this, he was detained in prison for two years while he was investigated. After that time he was acquitted. Once released, and free of all charges, he began to assume functions in the public sector.
Within this framework, he began working as a senior advisor to Congresswoman Trigozo without mentioning his trial for an alleged supporter of the Shining Path in his statement before Congress.

“(How come you hire Mr. Carlo Magno Pasquel?) Well, I have known him for many years… I only know that he is a friend of my family and he is already working here,” he told Panorama.
“(Is he your main advisor?) Yes, of course. (Aren’t you outraged by this issue? It’s a serious issue) I can’t be outraged queen,” she added.
Likewise, he indicated that he was unable to communicate with his advisor. “(Have you already contacted your advisor?) I don’t see him, he’s surely here, he’s in a distant political town. If so, it’s his past, I can’t judge him. You can’t judge anyone either, we all have the right to vindicate ourselves,” he said.
