Any sports competition held in the country, from now on, must have the participation of para-athletes, reported the sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello.
“By instructions from President Nicolás Maduro, from this moment on, every competition held in Venezuela must involve the participation of you (parathletes). In any corner, in any game, national, youth, parish, community must have their participation,” Cabello said during the closing ceremony of the 2024 paranational games.
In this sense, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace also highlighted that all the young people who participated in this competition, developed between the states of Anzoátegui and Monagas, are “great winners”, while expressing his pride in seeing them overcome their limitations.
“One ends up excited about you and it is satisfying to see you as protagonists, because it makes us feel better Venezuelans because of the pride we feel in seeing you there with your effort, competing,” he highlighted.
Likewise, Cabello highlighted that the efforts of these young people with disabilities must be a call to all people to go out and practice any sport and eradicate exclusion of any kind.
“Many people still fear that their children (with some condition) will do any sport. “This is an invitation for no one to stay at home and go out and play sports, and the Venezuelan State guarantees them all security, all assistance and all conditions so that their presence serves to exalt sport,” he noted.
In this sense, he highlighted the Revolutionary Government’s interest in guaranteeing equality in the country, so that people with disabilities or special needs “feel included in all environments.”
