The São Paulo court considered the arrests of Allan Pereira Soares and Marcos Henrique Soares, carried out by the São Paulo police this Saturday (7), illegal and decided to release them both.
“The arrest in the act was relaxed due to illegality, with a request to this effect from the representative of the Public Ministry”, said, in a note, the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP).
According to the state Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the are suspected of involvement in the execution of whistleblower Vinícius Lopes Gritzbach, murdered at Guarulhos International Airport, on November 8.
The sniper action at the airport left two people dead: Gritzbach and an app driver who was working at the location.
The two boys were presented yesterday at a custody hearing, which resulted in the relaxation of their prison terms. They were arrested in the act for committing a crime related to possession of a firearm and not for the alleged homicide that occurred at Guarulhos airport, the court said.
The TJSP cites that the arrest occurred “for allegedly committing the crime of Article 16 of the Law No. 10826/2003“, a crime that includes detaining, possessing, acquiring, supplying, receiving, having in storage, transporting, giving away, even if free of charge, lending, sending, employing, keeping in one’s custody or concealing a firearm, accessory or ammunition for restricted use, without authorization and in disagreement with legal or regulatory determination.
In total, three suspects were arrested this Saturday (7), according to the SSP. The third detainee will undergo a custody hearing today (8), which will assess the legality of his arrest.
After their arrest on Saturday, the suspects were taken to the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP), in the capital of São Paulo, where they were interviewed.
“Ammunition and cell phone devices were seized, which will be examined. The investigations remain confidential,” the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) said in a statement.
Airport murder
Vinícius Lopes Gritzbach made a plea agreement with the Public Ministry (MP) of the State of São Paulo in March 2024. The content of the plea bargain is confidential, but, last October, the MP sent excerpts of the document to the Police Internal Affairs Office. , in which the whistleblower denounces civil police officers for extortion. On October 31, he was interviewed at the Internal Affairs Department, eight days before he was killed.
Gritzbach also reported a money laundering scheme used by the criminal group PCC.
