The chancellor, Santiago Cafiero, affirmed this Sunday that the five Argentine families and their newborn babies (conceived through surrogates in Ukraine) have already arrived safely in Polish territory, “after a complex operation that lasted about 23 hours” to get them out of the country under Russian attack.

Last Saturday it was reported that – after intense diplomatic efforts – five Argentine families with surrogate babies, housed in the basement of the residence of the Argentine embassy in Ukraine, were on their way to Poland.
The head of the Palacio San Martín announced this news and thanked the “great work of Ambassador Elena Mikusinski and the diplomatic corps” for them.
This Sunday, the official reported that they reached their destination and are safe.
As Cafiero specified in the last few hours, there are 83 Argentines registered and 20 who are temporarily in Ukraine and the embassy continues to work to provide them with assistance.
