Operation Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro was activated in the “26 de Julio” Processing Center located in San Juan de los Morros (Guárico) from where its negative leaders were extracted.
According to preliminary reports, the Operation was carried out early this Saturday by agents of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), who entered the detention areas and carried out a search.
In the midst of this operation, approximately 76 subjects who exercised control over the goods and services of the prison establishment were separated from the prison population.
But, in addition, intelligence reports indicate that these subjects, commonly known as “pranes”, were enrolled in plans of violence for political purposes that they planned to execute before January 10, the day scheduled for the inauguration of the winning candidate in the elections. on Sunday, July 28, Nicolás Maduro.
“There were no casualties or injuries,” clarified a military leader participating in the Operation.
The “26 de Julio” Center for Defendants is the prison with the largest inmate population in Venezuela, which totals 2,036 prisoners, according to figures obtained from the Ministry of Penitentiary Service.
That prison was inaugurated on February 27, 2015 by the then minister Iris Varela. The establishment served to house part of the inmate population that was in the General Penitentiary of Venezuela, which was evicted on October 28, 2017.
