The Jorge Basadre Grohmann National University and the Provincial Municipality of El Collao – Ilave, through their authorities, the rector Javier Lozano Marreros and the mayor Richard Ururi Cueva, signed a specific inter-institutional cooperation agreement that will enable the operation of a subsidiary of the UNJBG in the province of El Collao that will include the professional schools of Law and Political Sciences, Administrative Sciences and, Accounting and Financial Sciences.

“The objective of this agreement is to provide higher education to more young people from El Collao and thereby give them greater opportunities to be professionals and agents of change,” mentioned Javier Lozano Marreros, rector of the UNJBG, after the signing of the agreement. He highlighted that UNJBG is committed to the academic and administrative part during 2025 for the operation of the branch.
Construction of perimeter fence was completed
For his part, the mayor of the province of El Collao thanked the UNJBG authorities for granting them the opportunity to bring higher education to the province of El Collao. He explained that by joining efforts, the construction of the perimeter fence for the subsidiary was achieved. “We are sure that the Ilave subsidiary will soon crystallize to bring education to young people with limited resources, education is the most important thing,” he said.

The main objective of the inter-institutional cooperation agreement is to establish inter-institutional cooperation ties for the installation of the UNJBG in the province of El Collao.

The event took place in the presence of the academic vice-rector Adriana Luque Ticona, the vice-rector for research Hugo Flores Aybar, the director of the Professional School of Nursing and president of the commission to create the branch Jenny Mendoza Rosado, the director of the Professional School of Accounting and Financial Sciences Manuel Velarde Herencia, the director of the Professional School of Administrative Sciences Bartolomé Anyosa Gutiérrez, the head of the Office of Cooperation and International Relations Yemile Berrios Espejo, along with councilors of El Collao and presidents of the communities of the province.
