Repsol reported that last Thursday, at approximately 3:55 pm, it detected a specific outcrop of hydrocarbon in the Multiboyas Terminal No. 2 of the La Pampilla Refinery in Ventanilla. However, he clarified that he held back from the first moment.

The company explained that no unloading operations were being carried out at the terminal, given that a cargo ship had already finished carrying out the same, around 1:30 in the afternoon yesterday.
“The outcrop was contained from the first moment with the containment barriers that are extended in our terminals, as is done routinely throughout
discharge, and the hydrocarbon was collected,” he indicated.
Likewise, he clarified that, as is done in the event of any incident, the Emergency Response Plan was activated and the corresponding actions were developed, taking into account
fundamental premise the safety of people and the preservation of the environment.
The company also communicated the facts to the corresponding authorities and is in coordination with them. In addition, it revealed that it is investigating the causes of the event and as a preventive measure will continue to monitor the area, as indicated in the Emergency Response Plan.
