Saint Dominic.- The National Police, through the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) in collaboration with security agencies of United States, the Bronx, New York, reported the capture of Ángel David Medina Paredes, alias “Guindo.”
Medina Paredes is identified as the leader of the organized crime group “The Ghosts” and responsible for multiple crimes in the Dominican Republic.
The operation included the participation of the Enforcement and Deportation Operations Unit (ERO), the Customs and Border Protection Service (CBP), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Interpol.
Medina Paredes was wanted for his involvement in the murder of Eduardo Castillo de los Santos in 2023, as well as in the assault on a jewelry store in the municipal district of San Luis and the murder of Radhamés Hidalgo Paredes.

The suspect was arrested after rigorous surveillance while he was traveling alone in a vehicle, with no incidents reported during the capture.
He is currently in the custody of the United States Department of Homeland Security and will be deported to the Dominican Republic to face the charges against him.
The National Police thanked the US agencies for their cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to combating organized crime and guaranteeing citizen security.

Their actions include the kidnapping of Kenny Joyce Reyes Marmolejos in 2021, the assault on a fuel station in 2022, and the murder of Eduardo Castillo de los Santos in 2023.
They are also responsible for other crimes, such as the assault on a jewelry store in the municipal district of San Luis and the murder of Radhamés Hidalgo Paredes.

Medina Paredes will be subject to due legal process upon arrival in the country.
