In the cumulative period from January to November 2024, the formal jobs that were created total 619,252 positions.
This figure is below the more than one million jobs that were generated in the same period of 2023.
Banxico’s projection is less encouraging than the figures already available until November; its last projection was for a creation of between 250,000 and 350,000 in 2024.
There is a complex month left for the creation of formal employment, companies usually hire less in December, and jobs are normally lost.
Regarding the last 12 months, the IMSS observed a growth of 234,370 jobs, which represents an annual rate of 1%.
The economic sectors with the highest growth are transportation and communications with 5%, commerce with 2.8% and electricity with 2%.
By federal entity, Guerrero, State of Mexico and Hidalgo stand out with annual increases greater than 4%.
