Santo Domingo.-They surrendered to the Police This Thursday in Mao, Valverde province, two men linked to a conflict that occurred in Barahona last Sunday, December 1, where a second lieutenant of the institution and a civilian were killed, in addition to a third person wounded by a gunshot.
These are Manuel Antonio Sánchez Feliz (Mayito) and Juan Alberto Espinal Cuevas (Alberto), who said that that same day they intended to turn themselves in, but that “there were many threats,” and that is why they did not do so. Arrest No. 2024-AJ0033920 weighed on both defendants.
The victims are police second lieutenant Meregildo Antonio Espinosa Segura and civilian Bryan Adonis Ferreras Feliz, while the injured person is Carlos Borges Mancebo.

Reports indicate that both fugitives chose to surrender to the monitoring of police personnel belonging to the Southern Regional Investigation Subdirectorate, with the support of the Rapid Action unit.

It is recalled that Second Lieutenant Espinosa Segura died as a result of shots fired by Ferreras Feliz.
Meanwhile, Ferreras Feliz died after being shot by Espinal Cuevas, who would have used Espinosa Segura’s service weapon.
The detainees will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
