The negative assessment of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s government by financial market agents does not match reality, failing to consider the various positive indicators that have been observed in Brazil. The analysis was carried out by two State ministers, this Thursday (5), during the inauguration of a cellulose factory in Mato Grosso do Sul.
The subject was addressed during the speeches of the Ministers of Planning, Simone Tebet, and the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, who cited the growing public and private investments that have been made in the country and the results that are already being observed, among them, the economic growth, accompanied by the lowest unemployment rate and the highest employment rate in history, in addition to successful social policies, which resulted in a reduction in school dropouts.
The Minister of Planning and Budget, Simone Tebet, strongly criticized the so-called “market”.
“I can’t believe that, with a government as highly rated as this one, the market rates it as bad at 90%. This is not impartiality. It’s playing against the country. And whoever plays against the country wants to help sink the country”, stated the minister.
The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, followed the same critical line adopted by Tebet. “Times to celebrate [os resultados recentes da economia]because those who support Brazil said that, last year, we were going to grow 1%. We grew 3.3%. These same pessimists said that Brazil would grow 1.5% [em 2024]but Brazil will end the year growing 3.5%”, said Costa.
According to him, the country’s growth originates from investments, partly stimulated by the expansion of credit, both for individuals and companies. “Credit, this year, was expanded by 15% for individuals. And the wage bill was increased by 13%, reaching the highest value in the history of this country”, he stated.
President Lula made an ironic comment about the negative assessment given by almost all financial market agents. “Yesterday [quarta-feira] A survey came out saying that 90% of the market, of those who make up Faria Lima, are against my government. Well then, I already won 10%, because in the elections they were 100% against my government. So I grew up [nessa avaliação] and I’ve already won 10% of them.”
