In the midst of a challenging economic panorama, the EL DEBER Group and the Chamber of Exports, Logistics and Investment Promotion of Santa Cruz (Cadex), are getting ready to carry out the long-awaited forum ‘Export and turn the crisis around’. This event, which will take place today, Thursday, December 5, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Cadex facilities, becomes an essential platform for debate and promote export potential of the country, and will have the notable presence of the Minister of Economy, Marcelo Montenegro, who has confirmed his attendance.

The forum includes an analysis of the economic situation in Bolivia by Martín Rapp, success stories of export companies, new logistics and transportation companies and the presentation of Minister Montenegro with the topic: ‘Perspectives for Bolivian exports and the generation of foreign currency’.

Oswaldo Barriga, president of Cadex, said that Bolivia is going through a time of crisis and going through certain economic difficulties. “But when there is a crisis, opportunities also arise and can come hand in hand with exports and new business visions,” he said.

Among the speakers who will share their experiences in external sales will be Manuel Laredo from the company Mamut, Cesar Terrazas from Ecogroup, Sebastián Franco from Fricción, Ariel Heredia from CDN Cargo and Cristian Daher from Datec Latam. Likewise, Diego Moreno from IASA, Mijail Loredo from Agroexport and Enrique Montemuro from the Unagro sugar mill will be present to talk about agribusiness.

In the opinion of Martín Salces, general manager of Cadex, the purpose is shed light on areas of uncertainty, “proposing that we can increase exports and attract foreign currency,” he stated. Salces stressed the relevance of highlighting the initiatives of entrepreneurs, who will have the opportunity to exhibit innovative products and services, ranging from technological developments to bioexports.

This forum is established as a space to investigate new opportunities in the export sectorwith a particular focus on less conventional areas and service provision. During the event, there will be presentations and roundtables led by prominent industry figures, who will discuss vital topics such as eco-exports and agro-export projections in a changing economic environment.

Salces highlighted that the recent signing of the health protocol for the export of chia to China demonstrates the potential of Santa Cruz as a producer of “super foods”, which in the next five years could generate income over $100 million. However, he also warned about the obstacles faced by the sector, indicating that “it cannot be exported with blockades in the country or with complex procedures for small, medium and large producers.”

The event is not only aimed at established exporters, but also extends an invitation to entrepreneurs looking for new opportunities who wish to contribute to economic growth. “We call on all those who think that we can have a different Bolivia to join. In this talk, you will be able find ideas that add value to their lives“Salces urged.

With the confirmation of the presence of the Minister of Economy, the forum is positioned as a crucial event for the future of exports in Bolivia, providing a space for dialogue, innovation and the development of a fundamental sector for the national economy. Expectations are high, and it is hoped that this meeting will motivate many to explore the potential of their ideas and products in the global market.
