Senate ends outsourcing; will hire 390 cleaning workers

Morena’s coordinator in the Senate and president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo), Adán Augusto López Hernández, announced the end of outsourcing for cleaning workers and assured that this change means not only a recognition of their rights, but also a significant budget saving for the institution.

“We waged a long-standing fight to end, once and for all, outsourcing. Today I want to announce that outsourcing ends in the Senate,” López Hernández highlighted on the platform.

The Tabasco native indicated that, starting January 1, 2025, the Senate will directly hire cleaning workers as trusted employees, thus ending their contracts that were previously managed through intermediary companies.

With this change, their salaries will increase from 7,100 to 11,000 pesos per month; In addition, their Christmas bonus will be increased from 2,000 to 14,100 pesos, they will be affiliated with the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) and will enjoy all the legal benefits, such as social security and food vouchers.

The senator from Morena commented that with this measure, the Senate will reduce its expenses by 82 million pesos annually.

“The good judge begins by his house. Today, the Senate takes a firm step towards social justice by recognizing the rights of the most humble workers in this House of the People,” declared the president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña.

Given this, next Tuesday, December 10, at 3:00 p.m., the official signing of the direct contracting agreement will take place in the Senate, an event to which Governor Layda Sansores, who promoted this cause when she was a senator, will be invited.

Meanwhile, they have already informed the workers that the contract between FONATUR INFRAESTRUCTURA SA DE CV and the Senate will conclude on December 31, 2024.

“In accordance with the provisions of the law, all workers will receive their settlements in accordance with current regulations and the seniority of each one. In the next few days, a date will be given to go to the central offices of FONATUR, where the Human Resources area will deliver the corresponding payments to representatives of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registry, who is the authority that reviews the calculations of liquidation”, is mentioned in the statement signed by the person in charge of third-party maintenance management and legal representative of Fonatur, Juan Manuel Anaya.
