Equipped houses are delivered to victims of Hurricane Georges

Twenty-six years later, 40 families victims of the Hurricane Georges who lived overcrowded in an old place in San Cristóbal changed their mood and life since last Sunday when the Government handed them over housing equipped in the town of Najayo Arriba.

From living in small rooms separated by cardboard and sheets, with two latrines for more than 200 people, in the middle of garbage and bad odors, the families They started to have individual houses equipped with two bedrooms and a living room.

Their faces do not hide the happiness when talking about grateful who are, “First of God and then of president Luis Abinader and Governor Pura Casilla”. This gratitude extends to other people thanks to whom, also, the families They say they are living a dream.

Each house delivered is equipped with a stovea refrigerator, a washing machine, a television, a furniture and dining set, a double bed and a two-level bed for children and adolescents, a blender, toaster, two fans and two portions of raw food.

Carolina Vizcaíno, is one of the benefited of the project and says he feels happy along with her three daughters who had to play in the middle of the mud and live together in a complete overcrowding.

Teresa Bautista is much more than happy. She was one of the families which lasted 26 years in The Navy of San Cristóbal and thanks the president Luis Abinader because he says, he promised to get them out of that place and he kept it. “It’s a president to whom the pain of the most dispossessed really reaches,” he said.

Celestino Valdez, another benefitedit’s not 40 families of The Navybut he and seven other neighbors lost their housing and trousseau for a fire in the Villa Fundación sector.
