Disability Week at COPAHDIM
Although the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was commemorated this Tuesday, December 3, in compliance with the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly in 1992, Disability Week is being held at the Colón Street institution.
Within this framework, a series of information and awareness days open to the community are being developed, as well as an exhibition of works that can be visited by the entire public and that will remain open until next Friday the 6th inclusive.
“This first week of December, within the framework of Disability Week, we are starting different activities. Among other things, we organized a sample of the things that were done during the year in the different workshops that operated here at our location. This exhibition is open to the public so that everyone can come to know the institution and see what is being worked on during the year.” commented the Teacher Rosana Tabárez.
“We also have different talks by professionals” announced in relation to the series of Workshops that began this Tuesday with a talk by a Dentist. “He came to talk about oral health” advertisement.
“Tomorrow, Thursday the 5th, we are going to have a talk with a Nutritionist who will guide us on healthy eating and healthy meals for the days of high temperatures that are coming.” reported. “On Friday the 6th we will have a third talk with a Psychologist about mental health. “Everyone is invited, parents, neighbors and the general population.” he added.
All these proposals are being carried out in the morning: the Fair is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the talks will take place around 10 a.m.
“We put together the sample of works on Monday the 2nd so that starting on Tuesday the 3rd we will receive all those who want to appreciate it” said one of the COPAHDIM Coordinators.
ENDING AN INTENSE YEAR
“We are in the final stretch of the year” Tabárez pointed out. “It was a 2024 with many activities, many workshops and many user learnings” stood out.
“Throughout the year we receive a lot of income. Beyond that we are not at full capacity. “We always have spaces, we have the capacity to receive new users” he assured.
“In total we have more than 50 students” revealed. “They are distributed according to the workshops and according to the needs that each one has” he added.
This year the closing of courses will be limited to an activity with the students as announced by the institution.
“We are facing the beginning of a new year” he stressed. “We have the Vacation Plan that will start on January 7. “It is for users who attended all year round” the official specified.
The Summer Plan is based on a proposal basically for outdoor activities. Recreational walks and outings are made to different parts of the city. “It’s about being outside the institution and outdoors with the little ones throughout the month of January” overtook THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
“On February 3 we started with the COPAHDIM Annual Plan” said Master Rosana Tabárez.
