In the text, the Venezuelan Government highlighted that it has fully informed the ICC Prosecutor’s Office of all the measures adopted internally, with the aim of advancing in compliance with the commitments established with the Rome Statute, as well as with the reached in the two memoranda of understanding signed with the Prosecutor’s Office.

“Venezuela considers it worrying that the prosecutor has not been made aware of these developments and the exact status of the issues addressed in his misguided statements, including the reactivation of the presence of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.” Human Rights in Venezuelan territory, carried out in the month of November of this year,” the statement cited.

At the same time, the national government deeply regretted that the ICC prosecutor, Karim Ahmad Khan, allowed himself to be carried away by information about public campaigns that emerged on social networks promoted by the extreme Venezuelan opposition, Zionism and the Western powers that intend to apply colonialism against the country.
