The economy grew 0.9% from the second to the third quarter of the year, driven by industry and the services sector, in the 13th consecutive expansion. In relation to the third quarter of 2023, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP, the set of all goods and services produced in the country) increased by 4%.
Over four quarters, the country’s economic growth totals 3.1%. The data was released this Tuesday (3), by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). In current values, GDP reaches R$3 trillion.
In a sectoral perspective, services and industry grew 0.9% and 0.6% respectively, from the second to the third quarter. Agriculture was the only sector that recorded a drop, of 0.9%.
