The Minister of Productive Development and Plural Economy, Néstor Huanca, reported this Friday that the cabinet of ministers approved Supreme Decree 4605 on Wednesday, which provides to lift the mandatory isolation of ten days for tourists entering the country. The main objective of this measure is the reactivation of the tourism sector.
“Some countries have already lifted these measures, such as Peru, Ecuador, Brazil. Panama and El Salvador. In this sense, listening to the concern of tourism operators, the national government made the decision to modify Supreme Decree 4481 to promote the economic reactivation of the sector, “said the authority, in statements collected by the Bolivian Information Agency (ABI)
Thus, three articles of Supreme Decree 4481 are modified and new epidemiological provisions are established for travelers:

They must have received the second vaccine against Covid-19 at least 14 days before their arrival in Bolivia and present a PCR test with a maximum of 72 hours old (those under five years old should not meet this requirement). In addition, those foreign visitors who do not reside in the country must have health insurance that covers Covid-19.
In case of not having a vaccination certificate, tourists must comply with the previous PCR test and health insurance, but, additionally, they must have a new PCR test 72 hours after entering the country and must comply with isolation until a negative result is obtained. If the result is positive, the corresponding isolation and monitoring protocol of the Ministry of Health will be complied with.
