This is the second strike in less than a week in the courthouses of the different departments of the Judiciary. The first one was held last Friday from 8:00 in the morning to 12:00 noon, while today’s is from 8:00 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon.
In the National District, Santo Domingo and the Heroes Center, the strike affected the hearings in all rooms, except those for permanent attention and those for cases. special administrative corruption.
Today’s call began with the reading of a proclamation addressed to society, the Public Ministry and the Executive Branch, in which they stated that: “they once again raise their voices for the country’s public ministries, given the lack of concrete responses from of the higher authorities and the Executive Branch…”.
The proclamation points out that the judicial system is in crisis due to budgetary insufficiency, repeated non-compliance with Law 133-11 regarding the career and its correct functioning; promotions, special training, decent pension and retirement plans, as well as other prerogatives of acquired rights; the ruling of the Administrative Court 030-02-2021-SSEN-00476, and the resolutions of the Superior Council of the Public Ministry (CSMP), on incentives, promotions and competitions.

“The Dominican people deserve a justice system that works. The lack of resources not only affects prosecutors, but also every citizen who goes to the courts and prosecutor’s offices seeking protection. In that sense we will take measures to guarantee access to justice of citizens during this day of strike, we will not leave aside cases with fatal deadlines, nor those that seriously affect people’s rights, nor victims of violence,” the proclamation states.
Prosecutors in Santiago
In Santiago, El Nacional journalist Narciso Pérez reported that prosecutors from that judicial department returned to paralyze their work this morning, in the fight they began last Friday, demanding a series of demands.
From eight in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon, prosecutors suspended all hearings in the corresponding courts of the different departments of the Federico C. Alvaez courthouse in this city.

Among some of the demands of the prosecutors are the promotions of tax attorneys, competitions for tenure, prosecutor’s offices and courts, as well as salary review and salary equality with the Judiciary.
Likewise, implementation of the Retirement, pension and retirement plan and dignification of functions through the incorporation of marginal benefits of the function established by law, with the creation of professional and personal development programs.
At the Heroes Center, prosecutors continued this Monday with their fighting plan to demand vindication.
This morning the chambers of the Court of Appeal of the National District suspended the roles due to the lack of representatives of the Public Ministry.
