With a goal from Fábio Gomes at the end of the match, Atlético-MG defeated Pouso Alegre 3-2 and took the lead in the Campeonato Mineiro. With the triumph achieved this Saturday (26) at the Manduzão stadium, for the 8th round of the competition, Galo reached the same 19 points as the vice-leader Cruzeiro (which has a worse goal difference).

Atlético-MG, who wanted to win to take the lead in the standings, opened the scoring in the 9th minute of the match, with a headed goal by Eduardo Sasha after a corner kick by Guilherme Arana.

The home team only managed to equalize in the 14th minute of the final stage, when Ramon Baiano took advantage of the ball thrown in the area. However, the Galo was still alive, and was back in front at 26, when Ademir crossed, Vargas scored and Sasha returned to swing the opposing team’s net.
Playing at home, Pouso Alegre did not give in, and defender Ramon Baiano left his mark again in the 35th minute. But, when everything seemed to be heading towards a 2-2 draw, Galo took the victory in the 51st minute of the second half. Nacho Fernández took a corner and Fábio Gomes went up a lot to head it.
Now, the Rooster returns to the field for the competition next Sunday (6), in the classic with Cruzeiro.
