He cargo transport robbery has increased 9.15% so far this year compared to 2023, with 15,937 cases registered by business owners, according to the monitoring of the security company through artificial intelligence, AI27.
Alejandro García, director of new products at AI27said that three entities: State of Mexico, Puebla and San Luis Potosí concentrated the highest crime rate.
“This illicit activity has had an increase of 9.15% compared to 2023, the year where AI27, a company that through Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides security to cargo transportation, estimated 14,600 thefts from carriers,” said the manager.
He specified that after the monitoring carried out, it has been detected that the most stolen vehicles in the year were trailers, full-size vehicles, and trucks equivalent to 5 tons.
The company that prevents risks of crime through Artificial intelligence which claims to have 30% of the Mexican market, pointed out that only 0.10% of the shipments they monitored faced a theft attempt, and of these the 59% were recovered.
However, insecurity data obtained by AI27 reveal an “alarming” panorama for transporters, with a constant increase in the risks of theft and loss on the roads.
The data contrasts with the figures of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC)which reveal around 9,299 reports of theft from carriers and which represents a 12% annual decrease compared to 2023.
“Thanks to the fact that we monitor more than 3,000 trips a day, we have precise data on which we base ourselves to make this estimate, which is 9.15% more than what we recorded last year, which shows the need to bet on technology. to combat this problem,” declared the AI27 director.
He explained that the company’s mission is to guarantee that each cargo and operator reaches its destination safely, optimizing resources and protecting those who move the economy.
“Road insecurity continues to increase, putting the operation and assets of the carriers at risk. Given this panorama, predictive tools like Elías, based on Artificial Intelligence, become essential to detect risks in real time and guarantee safety on each trip,” declared Héctor Polti, director of Digital Transformation at AI27.
Elías allows you to monitor routes in real time, detect risks in advance and optimize communication with operators. “With its ability to analyze large volumes of data and respond immediately, this technology becomes a key tool to prevent losses, guarantee the security of cargo and reduce operating costs,” he noted.
