Raúl Martín Presa, president of Rayo Vallecanosaid this Sunday that having players like Raul de Tomas and the Colombian James Rodriguez It is “a luxury” and that his limited participation in the team is due to the “competition” that exists in the squad.
James is going through a very difficult time at Rayo Vallecano. Since his arrival on August 26, his role with the team has been testimonial and he barely has 136 minutes spread over six games, of which only one as a starter, the one on September 28 against Leganés.
During this time his presence on the bench has been constant and on four occasions, against Girona, Alavés, Sevilla and this last day against Athletichas been left without playing due to a technical decision. Nor did he do it against the modest Villamuriel in Copa del Rey due to discomfort.
“The block is made. Iñigo has opted for other players and luckily at Rayo Vallecano there is a lot of competition. Let’s hope that when he comes out he gives us what he gave us. It is a luxury and we are delighted to have you. It is a luxury to have those players,” Presa said on DAZN about James, although he expanded his response to Raúl de Tomás, who was not against Athletic due to a flu process.

“Raúl is an extraordinary player, possibly our best player of indisputable quality, and for whatever reason this season has started a little strange. The team has done well, they have had bad luck, they had a couple of muscle problems, but we trust and we count on them. He is an extraordinary player, we are missing a goal and he has it, so we hope to get it back as soon as possible,” he commented.
