After winning the unprecedented title of Libertadores champion on Saturday (30) against Atlético-MG in Buenos Aires, Botafogo players will parade in an open car in Enseada de Botafogo, in the south zone of Rio, this Sunday afternoon (1).
The closures began at 1pm and will continue until the parade ends. The team will disembark at Galeão International Airport, and will be led, along the way, by scouts to Praia de Botafogo.
Rio City Hall recommends that fans use public transport, mainly the Metro, to disembark at Botafogo Station, and continue to the celebration location, as traffic will be complicated and there will be no parking spaces.
“Rio de Janeiro today is all black and white. It’s going to be a beautiful celebration. Rio de Janeiro deserves it, Botafogo deserves it. It will be in the neighborhood with the club’s name, on the beach with the team’s name and in that fantastic landscape, with the Sugarloaf Mountain in the background”, said Mayor Eduardo Paes.
The mayor also highlighted the safety of the event so that all fans can participate with their families:
“The Municipal Guard will be present, agents from CET-Rio, ambulances from the Municipal Health Department, and agents from Colmlurb. I have already spoken with Governor Cláudio Castro, and the Military Police will also be present”
