In this sense, the official announced an investment of about US$110 million for a sewerage project of Higuey.
“It is also appropriate to say that since tourism is the fundamental engine of the development of the province of La Altagracia and above all, that a large part of the Dominican economy moves from here, if we compare the months of January to October 2019 with January to October 2024, tourism has grown in this province by 37%,” he said.

Regarding the growth of tourism in La Altagracia, José Ignacio Paliza said that this province has had exponential population growth.
