The Minister of Public Works and Communications, Deligne Ascención, made a tour of numerous sectors of the National District on Thursday night.
This, to supervise the asphalting and patching of streets and avenues, and the reconditioning of sidewalks, reservoirs and scuppers in different sectors of Greater Santo Domingo.
Brigades and heavy equipment from the MOPC’s Road Paving Directorate participate in the laying of the asphalt layer in different streets and avenues of the Capital.
The same was done by men and machinery from the Road Signaling Department, who applied horizontal and vertical signs on streets and avenues that had already been repaired.
Among the intervened roads are Ortega y Gasset avenue with Paseo de los Reyes Católicos, San Martín with Máximo Gómez, John F. Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset.
Similarly, Winston Churchill with Kennedy, February 27 with Churchill, February 27 next to the Plaza de la Bandera, and Churchill with Paseo de los Announcers.
Ascención was accompanied by the Vice Minister of Road Maintenance, Mélito Santana Rincón, and the directors of Paving and Road Signaling, Alejandro Brito and Efraín Marte, respectively.
The official announced that in the present administration in the MOPC the construction of sidewalks and containers, asphalting, patching and marking of streets in these sectors will not be stopped.
“We are working to fulfill the mandate of President Luis Abinader, to improve the lifestyle of Dominicans,” he said.
He explained that these interventions in different sectors of the National District “we do them with the objective that Dominicans this Christmas can feel that there is a government that represents them, and that it is working to dignify the lives of the people, and that we are working to the well-being of the Dominican people ”.
He reported that these tasks are part of the National Program for the Repair of Sidewalks and Containers, Streets and Neighborhood Roads (PRONAC), started last week by the MOPC, and which will be taken to the entire country.
“These works are carried out with the objective of dignifying the lives of residents in the benefited sectors, and of providing greater safety to drivers who travel through the intervened streets,” he said.
He reported that this weekend the program will be taken to the Elías Piña province, where the municipalities Comendador, Bánica, Hondo Valle, Pedro Santana, El llano and Juan Santiago will be intervened.
Also, the communities of Sabana Larga, Guayabo, Sabana Cruz, Sabana Higüero, Guanito, Rancho de la Guardia and Río Limpio, among others.
Similarly, Public Works has been carrying out repair days for bridge expansion joints, lighting and cleaning of tunnels and overpasses in the National District and Santo Domingo province.
