The Spanish Civil Guard has dismantled what it considers the main organization dedicated to the introduction of cocaine from South America through the port of Algeciras (southern Spain), with the arrest of 22 people and international arrest warrant against three of those allegedly responsible.
The three escapees are considered those most responsible for the attempted introduction of five consignments of cocaine from South America through the port of Algeciras, with a total weight of 3,400 kilosaccording to a statement from the institution.
The operation has been carried out in several stages and the last has allowed the identification of all those allegedly responsible for the introduction of the drugs seized in five arrests.
A global drug lord
Among those arrested is the man considered the leader of the organization and one of the world’s drug lords, based in Marbella (Costa del Sol, south).
He was in charge of managing, thanks to his long list of suppliers, the consignments of cocaine hidden in maritime containers that went from South America to the port of Algeciras.
Its main partner is a Spanish businessman, escaped with his brother, who used his logistics companies to move containers from the port and was in charge of ensuring its control in complicity with port workers.
The great profits obtained from cocaine allowed them to create an important business network at the national level.
The criminal organization also had people who were in charge of providing security for the operations, using “clean” companies, with activity and history that were less likely to be inspected.
