The Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, and Governor of Misiones, Oscar Herrera Ahuadsigned this Saturday an agreement of financial assistance to that province for $2,000 million for investment in renewable energiesroad works and the recovery of wetlands after droughts.

“The national government has drawn up a road map that advances towards a country with more public infrastructure, with better conditions for the development of knowledge, and thus having a more productive economy, with more opportunities and also with greater predictability. The funds provided for in the agreement signed at the Government House through the Trust Fund for Provincial Development will be allocated to the acquisition of photovoltaic panels, road works on Route 204 and access to the city of Andresito, and the recovery of wetlands, said Economy in a statement.

Guzmán highlighted the importance of the Provincial Development Trust Fund, “which was created in 2020; the worst year of the pandemic”, which provided for the granting of $1.2 billion to Misiones, and considered that “it was very important in a difficult situation to assist the provinces of the country that faced great needs and strongly helped to deal with the situation that the country and that today continues to help strengthen the conditions for productive development”.

After highlighting the work and management of Guzmán to “give predictability to the Argentine people in the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)”, Herrera Ahuad affirmed that the resources that arrived in times of Covid allow explaining “why we were the province with fewer cases, with a lower fatality rate and with a lower mortality rate in Argentina”.

On the other hand, he stated that “This assistance and other resources will be entirely dedicated to the missionary population to solve different needs.. We have to move forward with infrastructure, with water intakes, with water purification plants in different places in the province, with the drinking water network”.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Provinces of the Ministry of the Interior and President of the Trust Fund for Provincial Development, Silvina Batakisstated that the financial assistance “serves to further enhance the opportunities that the province has.”

The Trust Fund for Provincial Development created through decree 286 of February 27, 1995has the purpose, among others, of assisting and financing development programs, improving efficiency, increasing the quality of benefits and strengthening in general the sectors of the real economy, education, justice, health and security and the consolidation of the fiscal and financial situation.

The provincial Minister of Finance, Adolfo Safran, also participated in the meeting; the pair of Coordinator of him, Ricardo Wellbach; Liliana Rodríguez Cooperative Action; and Climate Change, Patricio Lombardi. In addition, the provincial deputy Sonia Rojas Decut and the delegate of the Ministry of Labor of the Nation, Verónica Derna, were part of the meeting; and the Executive Director of the Trust Fund for Provincial Development, Claudia Graciela Álvarez.
