Saint Dominic.-In the different court rooms and hallways of the prosecutor’s offices at the National level, the presence of few people who had hearings was observed yesterday, after being postponed due to the four-hour work stoppage carried out by the prosecutors to demand demands.
The Association of Dominican Prosecutors (Fiscaldom), a union that brings together members of the Public Ministry, affirms that with this action it seeks to reduce the burden of hundreds of men and women who have given everything for this institution.
Although the work stoppage was from 8:00 in the morning to 12:00 noon, most of the hearings were suspended.
These work stoppages affect the parties involved in the judicial processes, especially defendants and victims who must go to court.
Claims
The members of the Public Ministry demand from the Superior Council of the Public Ministry a salary increase, comprehensive well-being, health, professional development and improvements in working conditions that make the service to citizens more efficient.
They also ask to materialize the promotions of tax attorneys and inspectors, to urgently carry out the competition for the titles of Prosecutors, Courts and Specialized Offices whose terms have already expired.
If they do not get answers to their claims, they will continue this Monday, December 2, with a work stoppage in all prosecutor’s offices and the Palace of Justice at the national level between 8:00 in the morning and 4:00 in the afternoon.
The union says that the members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office cannot stand any more false promises and delays in job improvements.
This strike joins others that have been carried out by prosecutors grouped in Fiscaldom since the middle of last year.
Since yesterday, the association has declared itself in a state of permanent struggle, for which it reiterates to the authorities that it will not cease its claims until the benefits established in the statute of the Public Ministry are met.

– Compliance
